I disagree with the idea that Japanese historic sites should be protected more.
I have following two reasons. First, they are already sufficiently protected. If they are natural historic sites, the government has set strict rules to regulate human activities in the area especially for preserving endangered species ranging from wild animals like serows to tiny insects like bagworms. For example, in the Japanese national parks, even picking up a flower or bring a stone back home is legally prohibited. I think that is enough. Second, every local government is striving to attract as many tourists as possible by featuring all the historic sites in its area. Officials and civilians altogether try to make best of their educational values by putting up signboards around the sites and offering pamphlets of them. For the reasons mentioned above, I think Japanese historic sites are appropriately protected now. [30] 2019年09月12日 (木) 09時51分
