Sandwiches cannnot be their souvenirs to take back home, but I want foreign tourists to try Japanese sandwiches when they come here.
Don't imagine typical sandwiches with vegetables and hams. Instead of such fillings, the recent Japanese sandwiches contain tenpura or seaweed, and furthermore, some of them are made at renowned tenpura restaurants which have long histories.

Here is one example of a Japanese seafood sandwich.

On the bread, Japanese fragrant masterd is spread upon it, and then shrimp tempuras or squid tempuras that have been dipped in a sauce are used as fillings. You can enjoy the juice texture of the fresh seafood, fragrant bread and nice smell of masterd.

I am sure Japanese people as well as foreign people should enjoy looking for this kind of "Non Japanese but Japanese original guormet".

Japan is good at taking in foreign foods and cultures and then renovating them so that foreign people as well as japanese people get interested in and love them. Maybe some products or culture-related goods imported and then renovated in Japan may have obtained popularity as Japan -original.

I enjoyed reading an unexpected introduction of a Japanese-style seafood sandwich.
There have been some cases that the Japanese take in a foreign food, customize some features (usually its taste and flavor) to match the preferences of the Japanese, and reinvent it as almost Japanese original.
A renowned curry shop chain "Coco Ichiban-ya" is, for example, advancing to India, a home of curry. The taste and the texture are fairly different, I suppose.
